Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Iroh, the easiest way to build a second brain. By creating an account or using Iroh, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Iroh.

1. The service

Iroh is a personal knowledge assistant that captures your notes by voice or text, organizes them into a personal interlinked wiki (your “brain”), and answers questions against your own information. Iroh is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and is actively evolving: features may change, be added, or be removed over time. Keep your own copies of anything important. You can export your vault as markdown files at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your region) and able to form a binding agreement to use Iroh. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Iroh only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

You sign in through a third-party provider such as Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for activity that happens under it. Provide accurate information and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Your content and your data

You own the content you create in Iroh: your notes, captures, and the pages that make up your brain. Your brain lives as files on your device. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide and improve the service for you, for example to transcribe your voice, organize a note, or answer a question. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use it within Iroh.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Iroh to break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights.
• Upload other people’s personal or confidential information without the authority to do so.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, probe, or attack the service or its infrastructure.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Iroh without our permission.
• Use Iroh to generate or store unlawful, harmful, or abusive content, or to circumvent usage limits and safeguards.

6. AI output

Iroh uses AI to transcribe, organize, and answer. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate, and it is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise). Verify anything important before relying on it. Iroh proposes changes for you to review and approve, and you are responsible for what you choose to keep.

7. Privacy

Your use of Iroh is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, what we do not, and the choices you have.

8. Third-party services and connections

Iroh relies on third-party services (for example sign-in, AI providers, and hosting). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services or content.

With your permission, Iroh can also connect to services you use, such as Apple Health (or Health Connect on Android), Google Drive, and your calendar and contacts, to read your data on your behalf. We access only the data needed for the feature you enable, only with your authorization, and you can disconnect any connection at any time. How that data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Subscriptions and billing

Iroh is free to download and use on the free tier. Iroh Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription billed at $19.99 per month through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; canceling stops future renewals and you keep Pro access through the end of the period you paid for. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see or store your payment details. If prices or plans change, we will make that clear before it affects you, and changes apply only to renewals after notice.

10. Intellectual property

We own the Iroh app, software, name, branding, and design. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use Iroh for your own personal use, subject to these Terms. Your content remains yours.

11. Feedback

If you share feedback, ideas, or suggestions, we may use them to improve Iroh without any obligation or compensation to you.

12. Termination

You may stop using Iroh and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or other users. If your access ends, the vault files on your device remain yours.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Iroh is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Iroh will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of Iroh.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Iroh harmless from claims and expenses arising out of your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Iroh after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before pursuing a formal dispute, please contact us at info@askiroh.ai so we can try to resolve the issue.
